Edinburgh Model Railway Exhibition 2026 takes place at George Watson’s College on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, marking 75 years of the Edinburgh and Lothians Miniature Railway Club.
The weekend brings together model railway layouts in several scales, traders, railway societies, demonstrations, and a hands-on LEGO train layout for children.

What To Expect
The exhibition covers layouts from different periods, countries, and railway scales. Confirmed displays include steam and diesel settings, narrow-gauge railways, modern-image layouts, European scenes, and the club’s historic Dundreich section from P. D. Hancock’s Craig and Mertonford Light Railway.
There is also a sizeable trade and society section, with model suppliers, railway associations, preservation groups, and specialist scale organisations represented. A LEGO train layout gives younger visitors something they can operate themselves.
The event is suitable for dedicated railway modellers, families, and anyone curious about how detailed miniature layouts are built and operated.
Tickets & Entry
Tickets are available online and at the door. Adult entry is £8, children aged 5 to 15 cost £3, under-5s go free, and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs £18.
