Whisky Under the Stars runs on eight selected dates at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh from Friday 7 to Saturday 29 August 2026. Each 90-minute tasting starts at 8pm and combines three drams with astronomy inside the venue’s 360-degree planetarium.
The special 2026 edition also marks the 300th anniversary of geologist James Hutton and links whisky tasting with the idea of deep time.

What To Expect
Dynamic Earth’s astronomers lead the experience, with three whiskies served while guests explore the planetarium and indoor rainforest setting. This is an adult evening event rather than a standard daytime attraction visit.
Tickets & Entry
All tickets are listed at £35. The event is strictly for ages 18 and over, seating is unallocated, and late arrivals may not be admitted after the show starts.
Location
Dynamic Earth is on Holyrood Road beside Holyrood Park and the Scottish Parliament, a short walk from the lower end of the Royal Mile.
Getting There
Edinburgh Waverley is the nearest main railway station. The venue is also served by city-centre buses, while walking from the Old Town is straightforward.
