The Borrowed Room play at Summerhall Edinburgh

The Borrowed Room

The Borrowed Room is a new Scottish chamber play staged at Summerhall from 19 to 21 June 2026.

Set in a public library meeting room in a remote coastal town, the play follows two men who grew up together as they record a conversation about leaving, staying and the stories people avoid telling.

It’s performed by Sean Connor and Craig Hunter, with Sam Pitcher directing. The piece deals with masculinity, shame, sexuality, silence, and belonging, so expect an intimate, dialogue-led theatre night rather than a big-stage production.

The Friday performance also includes a short post-show discussion. Ticket details and final timings should be checked with Summerhall before booking.
