Whisky and Food Pairing: A Taste of Scotland takes place at Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy on Thursday 27 August 2026, with three blended malt whiskies matched to Scottish cheese and Edinburgh-made chocolate.

Annabel Meikle, Master of the Quaich, leads the 90-minute tasting at the Academy’s Queen Street base from 6:30pm.

What To Expect

The tasting is built around three drams created by Wemyss Malts Master Blender Isabella Wemyss. Each whisky is paired with an artisan cheese from I. J. Mellis and a chocolate from Edinburgh-based Quirky Chocolate.

Meikle has spent 25 years working with Scotch whisky and food pairing. The session looks at aroma, flavour, texture, and how the character of a whisky changes alongside cheese and chocolate, so there is more to it than simply working through three drams.

The Academy sits in Edinburgh’s New Town, making this an easy evening option to combine with dinner or another city-centre stop.

Tickets & Entry

Tickets are £45 and the event is for attendees over 18. The Academy says the food used can change and the experience is not suitable for some dietary requirements or severe allergies, so read the allergen information before booking.
