What To Expect

The Legend of Crystal Shell is a scripted comedy play rather than a traditional stand-up set. Its central character has spent years hiding from the world because of a fantastic secret and now decides the moment has come to pursue an unlikely dream involving a solo interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.

Schaal is joined by John Roberts, with original music from Big Black Delta. The combination of a theatrical premise, music and dance ambition makes this one of the more unusual comedy bookings in the Pleasance programme, especially for anyone who knows Schaal mainly from television voice work and character comedy.

Demand is already very high. As of 8 August, Pleasance lists every scheduled performance, including the extra 12:20pm show on 13 August, as sold out. Returns can still appear, but there is no regular availability to promise.
