Buy Tickets

Availability varies by night. Live Nation lists the Monday, 20 July, Edinburgh date as available, while the Tuesday and Wednesday dates are sold out. Check the latest ticket status before booking, as returns or official resale options can change.

This is one of the bigger live music events in Edinburgh in July 2026. Byrne is best known as the frontman of Talking Heads, but his solo shows have a strong stage identity of their own, with music, movement and careful visual staging usually part of the same package.

What To Expect

The Edinburgh Playhouse dates are part of Byrne’s Who Is The Sky? tour, so expect a concert built around his current work as well as the wider catalogue people know him for.

The setting should suit him. The Playhouse is a large seated theatre rather than a standing arena, which makes it a good fit for a show where staging, lighting and performance style matter as much as volume.

Setlists can change across a tour, so do not treat any online song list as fixed. If you mainly know Byrne from Talking Heads, this should still feel like a proper event rather than a small nostalgia show.

Tickets & Entry

Tickets are listed through official ticket routes, including Live Nation and ATG. The Monday, 20 July date is the safest one to check first, as Live Nation lists that night with tickets available, while the later Edinburgh dates are shown as sold out.

ATG lists doors at 7pm. The venue also notes an over-14s age guidance, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.

Location

The concert takes place at Edinburgh Playhouse on Greenside Place, beside the Omni Centre and close to the east end of Princes Street.

It is one of Edinburgh’s main theatre venues and regularly hosts large touring concerts, musicals and comedy shows.

Getting There

Edinburgh Waverley Station is around a 10-minute walk away. St Andrew Square tram stop is also close, with onward tram links to Haymarket, Murrayfield and Edinburgh Airport.

Parking near the Playhouse can be awkward on busy show nights, so public transport is usually easier. Buses run along Leith Street, Leith Walk and Princes Street.

Our Tips

  • Check the date carefully before booking, as the three Edinburgh performances have different ticket status.
  • Arrive early if you need to collect tickets or use the box office.
  • Use Waverley or St Andrew Square if you are coming in by train or tram.
  • Check the official venue page for bag rules and entry updates before you travel.
