The Basement

The Basement is a Mexican bar and restaurant below street level at the top of Broughton Street. It sits only a short walk from Edinburgh Playhouse, making it a practical choice for food before a show or drinks afterwards.

The menu covers tacos, fajitas, burritos, small plates and desserts, with many dishes naturally gluten-free or adaptable. Tequila and margaritas are a major part of the drinks list, and the venue also runs a Patrón Sunday brunch and regular midweek food offers.
