The Queen’s Arms
The Queen’s Arms is a traditional basement pub at 49 Frederick Street, between George Street and Queen Street. The low ceilings, bookshelves, framed pictures, and snug-style seating give it a more settled pub feel than many nearby city-centre bars.
The kitchen serves pub classics, seasonal dishes, and a popular Sunday roast, while the bar carries beer, whisky, wine, and cocktails. Five screens show major football, rugby, tennis, and other sporting events, with sound used for selected fixtures.
A Sunday evening quiz is part of the regular schedule. The pub is dog-friendly, accepts walk-ins and takes bookings for meals or drinks, with under-18s welcome in the restaurant area within the stated hours.
Use the official Queen’s Arms website for current menus, bookings, opening hours, and event updates.
