Hawksmoor Edinburgh
Hawksmoor Edinburgh is a steak and seafood restaurant beside St Andrew Square, set inside the former National Bank of Scotland banking hall.
The Grade A-listed room gives Hawksmoor more character than a standard steakhouse. The menu centres on dry-aged British beef, large sharing cuts and Scottish seafood, with a strong cocktail list and two private dining rooms.
Food & Prices
Steaks include rump, sirloin, rib-eye and fillet, while larger cuts such as porterhouse, T-bone and prime rib are sold by weight. Seafood regularly includes oysters, scallops, crab and lobster.
For a cheaper entry point, the summer set menu in August 2026 is £20 for one course, £25 for two or £30 for three at selected times. Hawksmoor also serves its well-known Sunday roast, with dry-aged beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables and gravy.
Opening Hours
Venue hours are generally noon-11pm Monday to Thursday, noon-midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11:30am-11pm Sunday. Kitchen service has shorter windows on some weekdays.
Our Tips
- The set menu is considerably cheaper than ordering a large steak à la carte.
- Book ahead for Sunday roast, which is one of the restaurant’s busiest services.
- Large sharing steaks are priced by weight, so check the blackboard price before ordering.
- The former banking hall is worth requesting if you are booking for a special occasion.
