Monkey Barrel Comedy
Monkey Barrel Comedy is an independent comedy club on Blair Street in Edinburgh’s Old Town, just off the Royal Mile. It runs stand-up throughout the year and becomes one of the city’s busiest comedy venues during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The club opened in 2017 and has built a strong reputation for mixing established comedians with newer acts. Its regular programme includes weekend showcase bills, tour shows, work-in-progress sets, new-material nights, and live podcast recordings.
The main Blair Street site contains several performance rooms. Monkey Barrel’s own venue information lists MB1, MB3, and MB4 among its year-round spaces, while the Fringe programme expands across multiple rooms during August.
The venue is at 9–12 Blair Street, between the Royal Mile and Cowgate. Edinburgh Waverley is around a 10-minute walk away, and South Bridge is close by for city-centre bus services.
Some rooms in the historic Old Town buildings have accessibility limitations, so check the venue’s accessibility information before booking if step-free access or other arrangements are important. See the official Monkey Barrel Comedy website for the latest shows, tickets, and visitor information.
