New Edinburgh Food And Retail Arrivals To Know About

A new airport diner, fresh casual dining names and a premium Multrees Walk arrival are among the latest food and retail moves around Edinburgh.

Edinburgh has a few new food and retail arrivals to keep an eye on, with updates around the airport, Princes Street, Teviot Place and Multrees Walk.

Some are already open, while others are still in the announced or coming soon stage. Here are the key names to know.

Forth & Main Opens At Edinburgh Airport

Forth & Main is now open at Edinburgh Airport, giving passengers a new Scottish-American diner option before they fly.

The restaurant opened on 30 June 2026 and has taken over the former BrewDog site at the airport. It has been created by TRGC and is built around an all-day diner and bar format, with American diner influences and Scottish touches.

For travellers, it adds another sit-down food and drink option inside the terminal, covering breakfast, pre-flight meals, and drinks.

Kongz Heads For Princes Street

Kongz is heading for Princes Street, bringing the Glasgow-born fast food brand to one of Edinburgh’s busiest city centre streets.

The brand is known for loaded casual food, including smashed burgers, pizzas, and big-portion comfort food. A Princes Street site puts it in front of heavy footfall from shoppers, visitors, commuters, and office workers.

The move also adds another food name to a street that continues to shift beyond traditional retail.

Shakedown Linked With Teviot Place

Shakedown is another food name listed among Edinburgh’s latest arrivals, with a new restaurant linked to 15-16 Teviot Place.

The location puts it close to Bristo Square, George Square, the University of Edinburgh, and the Southside. That makes it a strong spot for student traffic, lunch trade, and busy festival-season footfall.

Shakedown already has Edinburgh locations listed in Corstorphine and Milton Road West, so a Teviot Place restaurant would give the brand a more central city presence.

ALO Coming Soon To Multrees Walk

ALO is coming soon to 16/17 Multrees Walk, adding another premium retail name to the St Andrew Square shopping area.

The brand is best known for athleisure, yoga clothing, and wellness-led fashion. Its arrival fits the wider Multrees Walk mix, which already leans towards designer, lifestyle, and premium retail.

For shoppers, it gives Edinburgh another recognised international fashion name in the city centre.

Why These Openings Matter

The latest arrivals show food and retail operators still targeting Edinburgh’s busiest footfall areas.

The airport opening serves passengers directly, while Princes Street and Teviot Place give casual dining brands access to shoppers, students, workers, and festival crowds. Multrees Walk, meanwhile, continues to build its role as one of Edinburgh’s premium retail spots.
