Tanabata Star Festival

  • Tanabta

Celebrate the launch of the new exhibition with an evening of stories and star-lore, with Linda Williamson, Mio Shapley and Joseph Kennedy.

The Japanese Star Festival or ‘Tanabata’ is traditionally held on 7th July, where legend says the Cowherd Star (Altair) and Weaver Star (Vega), lovers separated by the Milky Way, can meet just once a year – on the 7th day of the 7th month.
