Brown’s of Leith
Brown’s of Leith is a multi-use creative, food, drink, and events venue at 4-6 Shore in Leith, set inside the former George Brown & Sons Engineering Works.
The restored industrial building brings together independent food and drink businesses, makers, studios, and flexible spaces overlooking the Water of Leith.
Brown’s opened in November 2025 as part of the wider Custom Lane project. The building retains much of its industrial character after more than 130 years as an engineering works, while its newer uses include Haze, Civerinos, a seafood bar from ShrimpWreck, Woven Whisky, and resident creative studios.
The venue also hosts larger gatherings and cultural events. During the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Rear Warehouse is being used by Grid Iron for the site-specific theatre production Mayflies.
Opening Hours
Brown’s of Leith lists general building hours of Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 10pm. Individual food, drink, workshop, and event times can differ, so check the relevant operator or event listing before travelling.
