Interior of Vittoria on the Walk restaurant in Edinburgh

Vittoria on the Walk

Vittoria on the Walk is a long-running family Italian restaurant just off Leith Walk, founded by the Crolla family in 1970 and still operating from its Brunswick Street corner site.

The menu centres on familiar Italian favourites rather than formal fine dining, with pizza, pasta, meat and seafood dishes, alongside vegetarian and special-diet options. It works well for family meals, groups and an uncomplicated dinner before heading further into Leith or the city centre.

What To Expect

Vittoria on the Walk is the original Vittoria restaurant in Edinburgh. The Crolla family has run restaurants in the city for three generations, and this branch has a more neighbourhood feel than the group’s George IV Bridge restaurant.

The restaurant supports gluten-free, nut-free and lactose-free choices, with vegetarian dishes also marked on the menu. Children are catered for with a dedicated menu, high chairs and family-friendly service.

Opening & Bookings

As of August 2026, Vittoria on the Walk lists evening opening from Monday to Thursday, with lunch and dinner service from Friday to Sunday. Online booking is available, while larger groups need to contact the restaurant directly.

Our Tips

  • If you want lunch rather than dinner, aim for Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
  • For family dining, ask for the children’s menu rather than relying on smaller portions from the main menu.
  • The restaurant is close to Leith Walk tram stops, so public transport is usually easier than driving.
  • For a more Old Town location, Vittoria on the Bridge is the group’s George IV Bridge restaurant.

Check the official Vittoria on the Walk website for current menus, opening hours and reservations.
