Vittoria on the Bridge
Vittoria on the Bridge is a family-run Italian restaurant on George IV Bridge, a few minutes’ walk from the Royal Mile, Victoria Street and the National Museum of Scotland.
Opened in 2007 by the Crolla family, it serves pizza, pasta, meat, and seafood dishes in a large Old Town restaurant that suits everything from lunch and pre-theatre meals to family celebrations and bigger groups.
What To Expect
The menu follows the group’s traditional Italian style, with ingredients sourced from Italy alongside selected Scottish produce. Gluten-free, nut-free and lactose-free options are available, as well as vegetarian dishes and a children’s menu.
Its location makes it particularly handy for Old Town sightseeing. Greyfriars, Chambers Street, the National Library of Scotland and the upper end of the Royal Mile are all nearby, so it is easy to combine with museums, attractions or Festival shows.
Groups & Bookings
Vittoria on the Bridge takes online reservations and has facilities for larger celebrations and private events. The restaurant has a separate party space, disabled access and an accessible toilet.
Our Tips
- It is a useful pre-theatre option if your show is in the Old Town or around the Festival’s central venues.
- Book ahead during August, when George IV Bridge and the surrounding Old Town are exceptionally busy.
- Ask about the dedicated party room if you are organising a larger family or group meal.
- There are several bus routes on George IV Bridge, while Waverley station is roughly a ten-minute walk downhill.
See the official Vittoria on the Bridge website for current menus, opening hours and bookings.
