This weekend Glasgow and Edinburgh comedy fans can expect a hilarious thrill ride of laughs and gasps, with a few rants against the small things in our lives, as New Zealand Comic Jarred Christmas headlines Gilded Balloon Comedy at Drygate (Friday 6 February) and Gilded Balloon Comedy at The Studio (Saturday 7 February).
Jarred Christmas mixes gags, improvisation and boisterous storytelling. He has a dynamic onstage persona and an ability to improvise and roll with anything that’s thrown his way. This sizzling comic’s originality has earned him a whole host of accolades including a Chortle Award. It has also atapulted him to the forefront of our TV screens in shows such as Mock The Week (BBC2), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2) and 8 out of 10 Cats, (Channel 4).

Joel Dommet, one of the fastest rising stars on the UK comedy circuit, the face of MTV in 2012 and an accomplished actor is the support act for both the Drygate and Studio at The Festival Theatre gigs. He will be joined by Chris Forbes, the critically acclaimed Scottish comedian, actor and writer.
Keeping the three men in order and making sure everyone has a great time will be compere for the weekend Katie Mulgrew, the Lancashire comedian who really likes making people laugh. She can be seen regularly performing at clubs all over the country.
