Edinburgh Summer Sessions: Heather on the Hill returns to the Royal Highland Centre on Saturday 28 August 2027. Ticketmaster lists the outdoor event from 12pm.
Created by Nathan Evans & The Saint PHNX Band, Heather on the Hill combines a full day of live music with family activities, food, entertainment, and a makers market.
The 2027 edition follows the festival’s first Royal Highland Centre event and keeps the broad family format. It is designed as more than a single headline concert, with activities running around the music programme across the day.

What To Expect
The official venue description promises live music alongside face painting, arts and crafts, workshops, children’s activities, funfair attractions, roaming entertainment, a makers market, and food and drink. The event is aimed at families as well as adults coming mainly for the music.
Nathan Evans & The Saint PHNX Band created the festival and are central to its identity. The full 2027 line-up can develop as the date gets closer, so use the official listing for the latest artist announcements rather than assuming the previous year’s bill will repeat.
Tickets & Entry
Tickets are available from Ticketmaster or the official Royal Highland Centre event page. Availability was already limited when checked, so the live ticket page is the best guide to remaining options.
Ticketmaster lists the event from 12pm. Anyone aged 0 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or over, with the ticket page stating a minimum of one adult for every three people in that age group.
Location & Getting There
The festival takes place outdoors at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, close to Edinburgh Airport. Large outdoor events can use their own traffic, parking, and drop-off arrangements.
Check the festival travel information before setting off rather than relying on a normal venue-day plan. The Ingliston area is served by tram and bus links, but the exact walking route and event entrances can vary for major showground events.
Our Tips
- Check the final line-up and site information again nearer August 2027.
- If you are taking children, read the adult-accompaniment rule before buying tickets.
- For an all-day outdoor event, plan for changeable weather and check what the organiser allows through the gates.
