The IRN-BRU Carnival has been a Scottish winter tradition for more than a century — and it’s back for another year of high-energy fun at the SEC in Glasgow. Billed as Europe’s largest indoor funfair, it fills the giant exhibition halls with more than 70 rides and attractions, from roller coasters and dodgems to family rides and inflatable play zones.
For thrill-seekers, there’s the new “Looping Star” coaster, spinning rides, and the famous waltzers. Younger visitors can enjoy the dedicated Kids Zone with smaller rides, face-painting, and games. Alongside the main attractions you’ll find classic carnival stalls, food vendors, and plenty of places to stop for a snack or warm up with a hot drink.
The venue is fully indoors, making it a perfect winter day out regardless of the weather. Parking is available at the SEC, or it’s an easy 50-minute train trip from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Central, followed by a short walk or hop on the subway to Exhibition Centre.
Tip: Pre-book online to save money and skip the queues — weekend sessions and school-holiday dates often sell out fast.
