Meadows Edinburgh in Autumn

The Meadows

📍 Melville Drive, Edinburgh EH9 1ND

The Meadows is one of Edinburgh’s largest and most popular parks — an open green space that stretches between Marchmont, Bruntsfield, and the Old Town. It’s where people come to walk the dog, meet friends, kick a football, or enjoy a warm day on the grass

The park’s long, tree-lined paths create natural walking and cycling routes, while the central lawns offer plenty of space for picnics and outdoor sports. In spring, the cherry blossom avenues are one of the city’s most photographed sights.

With tennis courts, play areas, and easy access to Bruntsfield Links, it’s a peaceful escape right on the edge of the city centre — and a daily part of life for locals, students, and visitors.

Highlights:

  • Wide open lawns for walks, picnics, and casual sports
  • Famous cherry blossom avenues in spring
  • Tennis courts, playgrounds, and cycle routes
  • Borders Bruntsfield, Marchmont, and the Old Town
  • Popular for dog-walking, jogging, and summer meet-ups
