Studio Theatre

Studio Theatre is a flexible performance space at 22 Potterrow in Edinburgh, close to the Festival Theatre and the University of Edinburgh. Managed by Capital Theatres, it is the smallest of the organisation’s three Edinburgh venues.

The venue is used for theatre, dance, family performances, rehearsals, workshops, festivals, and new work.

Its more intimate scale makes it particularly suited to smaller productions and shows where audiences are closer to the performers. The performance space can accommodate up to around 155 people.

Studio Theatre has lift access and wheelchair spaces, with accessible seating available in the front row. It also provides accessible toilets and MobileConnect hearing support. The venue opens one hour before the advertised start time for performances and events.

The nearest railway station is Edinburgh Waverley. The theatre is around a 15-minute walk from the east end of Princes Street, while numerous Lothian Buses services stop around Nicolson Street and Potterrow. Street parking nearby is limited.
