Stockbridge Edinburgh

Stockbridge

📍 Stockbridge, Edinburgh EH3 / EH4

Stockbridge is one of Edinburgh’s most-loved neighbourhoods — a relaxed, village-style area just a short walk from the New Town. It’s known for independent shops, cosy cafés, brunch spots, riverside walks, and some of the nicest streets in the city.

At its heart is the Stockbridge Market, held every Sunday and packed with artisan food, bakes, produce, and handmade crafts. Around it, you’ll find colourful boutiques, wine bars, bookstores, and some of Edinburgh’s most photographed Georgian and Victorian streets.

The neighbourhood connects directly to the Water of Leith Walkway, leading you through leafy paths to Dean Village one way and the Botanic Gardens the other. It’s a quiet escape with a strong local feel — perfect for wandering, eating, and exploring at an easy pace.

Highlights:

  • Stockbridge Market (Sundays)
  • Independent cafés, bakeries, pubs, and antique shops
  • Minutes from Dean Village and the Royal Botanic Garden
  • Scenic riverside walks along the Water of Leith
  • Georgian crescents, elegant townhouses, and quiet side streets
  • Laid-back, village atmosphere close to the city centre
