Edinburgh New Town
📍 New Town, Edinburgh EH2 / EH3
Edinburgh’s New Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in Europe.
Built in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, it’s a grand grid of elegant streets, crescents, gardens, and squares, stretching from Princes Street to Stockbridge and the West End.
The area is known for its beautiful sandstone townhouses, boutique shopping streets, galleries, cafés, bars and some of the city’s most desirable residential addresses. Popular streets include George Street, Rose Street, Thistle Street, and the spectacular Moray Place and Royal Circus in the West End.
It’s a neighbourhood made for walking — orderly, spacious, stylish and full of history. While the Old Town brings atmosphere and medieval character, the New Town brings symmetry, elegance and a completely different feel. The two together define the city.
