    Lebowskis Bar Edinburgh

This theme pub is based on the Coen Brothers cult movie The Big Lebowski starring Jeff Bridges as ‘The Dude’.  It is situated at 18 Morrison Street in the Tolcross / Lothian Road area.

It offers a “collection of wonderful causasians” which is the Dude’s favourite tipple, The White Russian . There are 27 in fact, even one that uses Buckfast and is named The Gutter Ball. (£4.95)

They are all well titled along with famous quotes and using characters from the film such as The Jesus (a loco mix of Kahlua coffee liqueur, Mexico’s finest Patron coffee tequila and milk), The Nihilist (Mind blowing Le Fee Bohemian Absinthe (70%), Kahlua coffee liqueur and milk) and even The Karl Hungus (A banana split with a kick, Mozart White Chocolate vodka, creme de Banane, Hersheys chocolate sauce and 50/50 milk and cream.)

The food specializes in burgers of course and some hot dogs. If you go with a good appetite, why not try The Big Lebowski burger at £12.95 which is described as “Not for the faint hearted”.

You can see their full food menu and list of white russians on this PDF file here

A nice place to “take her easy” for a little while and definitely a must visit for fans of the film. If you want to go the whole hog and go bowling too there are bowling alleys at the Fountain Park leisure complex on nearby Dundee Street.

This is a relaxed and friendly bar well worth a look. It can be quiet during the week but it usually gets very busy at weekends so you’d be advised to book ahead.

Great theme pub, friendly staff and good food. Can’t wait to go back with a bigger appetitie.
