Ballet Shoes follows Pauline, Petrova, and Posy as they find different ambitions and ways forward. Despite its title, this is a theatre production that uses dance within a larger story, rather than a full-length ballet.

What To Expect

Kendall Feaver adapted Streatfeild’s book for the stage, with Katy Rudd directing. The story gives the three sisters distinct interests and decisions, so the production has more to offer than a simple backstage tale about ballet classes.

The Edinburgh schedule lists 7pm performances from Tuesday through Saturday. Matinees start at 2pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. That range makes the play easier to fit around school, work, or a weekend visit, but check the exact performance you select before booking.

Tickets and Getting There

Edinburgh Playhouse is on Greenside Place, near Picardy Place tram stop and within walking distance of Waverley Station. The walk up from the station is noticeable, so leave a little extra time if you are arriving by train with children.

Tickets are available through the official event page. Casting can vary by performance: Anton Du Beke is advertised as Great Uncle Matthew for selected dates and is not scheduled for either Saturday 23 October show. Check the cast information against your chosen date if that affects your booking.
