The National Museum of Scotland is hosting free live music sessions with Live Music Now Scotland, giving visitors the chance to hear professional performers and emerging artists while exploring the Chambers Street museum. The sessions take place on selected Tuesdays from 27 October 2026 until 2 March 2027.
There are two performances on each programme date, at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Each lasts about 45 minutes, and there is no charge or advance booking requirement. The performances take place in Hawthornden Court on Level 1, so they work well as a short visit or as part of a longer afternoon in the galleries.

What to Expect
The programme changes from week to week rather than repeating the same act. Announced performers include pianist Adam Heron, singer-songwriter Liv Dawn, and the Silver Keys clarinet quartet. That range makes this rather different from a conventional concert hall show.
Planning Your Visit
Some audience seating will be available, and portable seating can be found around the museum. Visitors who want to hear a particular musician should check the official calendar first, as the list does not promise a concert every Tuesday throughout the date range. The main museum is on Chambers Street, a short walk from the Royal Mile.
Full dates, access information, and any changes are published on the official event page.
