New Wetherspoons Pub Set to Open on Chambers Street This Summer
Edinburgh city centre is getting a giant new Wetherspoons this summer, with the chain confirming plans to open a large new pub on Chambers Street.
The venue, expected to be named The William Chambers, will take over the former Revolution cocktail bar at 30a Chambers Street. It will accommodate 485 customers across the ground and basement floors of the B-listed building.
Work on the site started in March, and the pub is now scheduled to open its doors on Monday, 27 July 2026.
Opening hours and what’s on offer
- The pub will open daily from 7am for breakfast and coffee.
- Alcohol will be served from 9am to 1am Monday to Saturday, and from 11am to 1am on Sundays.
- As with other Wetherspoons venues, expect the usual mix of affordable pints, pub favourites, all-day breakfasts and good-value meals.
The location is one of the strongest points. Chambers Street sits right beside the National Museum of Scotland, a short walk from the University of Edinburgh’s Old College, the Royal Mile, Grassmarket and Greyfriars Kirkyard. It should prove popular with students, tourists exploring the Old Town and locals looking for a reliable spot.
This will bring the total number of Wetherspoons pubs in Edinburgh to eight and adds much-needed seating capacity in a busy central area.
The William Chambers is the latest in a series of new openings for the chain in Scotland’s capital. We’ll keep an eye on progress over the coming months and bring you any updates on the fit-out, early opening details or menu previews closer to the time.
