We are proud to announce the long-established, World Famous “Taste of Scotland Show”, now in its 40th year will be continuing for the forthcoming season of 2013.

The Experience : 

The stunning location of Prestonfield is set in 20 acres of its own parkland and gardens, but yet only five minutes from Princess Street in the centre of Edinburgh. As you enter the Prestonfield drive you can witness the Highland Cattle grazing in the fields, peacocks and squirrels wandering around the grounds in this truly magnificent rural setting.

Arrive at 6.45 to be welcomed by Prestonfield’s own world championship piper and enjoy photo opportunities in the gardens and grounds with peacocks and Highland cattle before dinner is served at 7pm followed by the show at 8pm

The Format of the Evening : 

The coaches and public are greeted at the entrance by our World championship Piper (photograph opportunity), welcomed into the stables by the Show’s Host and then shown to your tables by the Stables manager.

The menu of fine Scottish produce is;

Orkney Clapshot Soup
A creamy carrot, turnip and potato soup or

Gamekeeper’s Pate
A rustic venison terrine with red cabbage chutney

Scotch Beef “Auld Alliance”
Silverside of Scottish beef braised with French claret, skirlie potatoes and heather honey-roast root vegetables or

Scottish Seafood
Scottish Salmon, hake and Finnan haddie, a creamy mornay sauce encased in puff pastry

Prestonfield’s Cranachan
Raspberry mousse, toasted oatmeal, butterscotch and Parlie biscuit

Tea or coffee and clotted cream fudge

The Great Chieftain O the Puddin Race
A taste of traditional haggis, ‘neeps and tatties is served at the show interval

(A vegetarian Option is also available)

The Taste of Scotland experience looks forward to greeting you for an evening that promises to encapsulate the heart and essence of Scotland. For the exile, the music may unremittingly recall his home and his childhood, for a tourist, fond memories of a holiday in Scotland, for the indigenous Scot, the music is synonymous with village hall dances and late night ceilidhs. We hope to invoke many personal memories of Scotland.

Running Order (Please arrive accordingly) :

  • 6.45pm to 7.00pm……………Coaches arrive
  • 6.45pm to 7.00pm……………Public arrive
  • 7.00pm (3 course)…Dinner is served
  • 8.00pm (Show first half begins – 50 Mins)
  • 8.50pm (15min Intermission) Haggis is Served
  • 9.05pm( Show Second Half restarts – 55 Mins)
  • 10.00pm ……………………………End of Evening

Please note, Children under 3 years of age are free but require a ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
