The gifted pupils of Scotland’s national music school will be performing their Spring Concert in Edinburgh on Wednesday 28 March.

St Mary’s Music School’s Spring Concert will take place at St Mary’s Cathedral, Palmerston Place, Edinburgh at 7.30 pm.

It will include music from St Mary’s Music School Choirs, the Orchestra, The Choristers of St Mary’s Cathedral and the Baroque Ensemble.

The evening of music will feature works by Pergolesi and Mozart.

Commenting on the Spring Concert, Dr Kenneth Taylor, Headteacher, St Mary’s Music School, said:

“Everyone at St Mary’s Music School is looking forward to our Spring Concert.  It is important for our young musicians to have the opportunity to perform in public and we are delighted to extend a warm welcome to all those who come along to the concert and support them.

“The concert takes place in Holy Week and the choice to include the Pergolesi Stabat Mater reflects this.  The performance will involve every pupil in the school and Soprano soloist Libby Crabtree.

“The other work in the concert is the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in which the Orchestra will be joined by Leo Kerr, the current winner of the school’s Lord Clyde Concerto Competition.  The Concert will be conducted by Paul Stubbings”.

Tickets (£8, concessions £5, schoolchildren free) are available from St Mary’s Music School (Telephone: 0131 538 7766) or on the door on the evening.
