How Scottish Clans left their mark after the Battle of Prestonpans

Residents from East Lothian and beyond are being invited to a series of events designed to tell the story of the connection between their names, the names of the streets they live on and the Battle of Prestonpans. Streets throughout Prestonpans are named after clans that fought in the famous battle and residents on these streets are invited to a series of special free events run at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg the summer.

Thursday August 16th from 7pm – free
Residents of Cameron Way and Appin Drive and those who with surnames Cameron and Stewart
Tonight will focus on the involvement of the Camerons and Stewarts of Appin in Lt General Sir George Murray’s Division.

Suitable for all ages (including children), each event will provide a fascinating insight into the fates of the clans that gave their name to the streets of Prestonpans. They will also give information on the major Memorial Procession to take place on Saturday 15th September followed by the biggest ever re-enactment of the Battle of Prestonpans on 15th and 16th September.
