This is an ideal spot to take foreign visitors to Edinburgh, as the cuisine offers some of Scotland’s finest.

The menu is quite specific about where the produce is sourced from ie Highland Beef, Arran Mustard, Arran Cheddar, Stornoway Black Pudding etc. which is nice to see that they are keen to support the Scottish economy.

The menu caters for vegetarians, vegans and pescetarians too, and although a meat eater, I opted for a vegetarian dish as the descriptions were mouth-watering.

This is also a bring your own bottle restaurant, and corkage is a modest £2 a bottle.

Starters cost on average £5 and mains £14 and with the BYOB it makes it a very affordable evening out.
