Applying your makeup during a heatwave for it to melt or slide off only a couple of hours later is frustrating and very annoying. There are a couple of top tips that will help your makeup last longer and remember that less is more during super-hot days. Hydrate your skin from the inside out by drinking lots of water and remember to do your best to keep your face out of the sun whenever possible.
SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
It is crucial to apply an SPF under your makeup every day however this is even more important during the summer. This will protect your skin from harmful UV rays and will also delay ageing.
Setting Spray
Applying a mist of setting spray over your makeup will hydrate your skin and lock your makeup in to avoid smudging and wear throughout the day. Perfect for hot summer days and it will feel amazing on your skin too.
Brow Gel
When you are hot during summer, especially during a heat wave, brow makeup can melt into your skin and smudge. To combat this, I recommend a brow setting gel to ensure your brows are set in place and will not move. The Benefit Gimme Brow is my favourite.
Lip Balm
Lip balm is really important during summer as your lips can burn the same as your skin. I like to apply this underneath a nude lip liner which I would apply all over the lips to create s soft blush of colour. Carmex is my favourite and is affordable too.
